Tree Service in Ecorse, MI

Ecorse sits right on the Detroit River between River Rouge and Lincoln Park, one of the older communities in the region and one of the smallest. The housing is largely early-to-mid twentieth century on compact lots, and the tree canopy is old, uneven and in many places unmanaged for decades.

We work in Ecorse regularly and price it the same way we price everywhere else. Being a smaller, lower-income community does not mean the trees are less dangerous or the work is less necessary — if anything, deferred maintenance means more of what we find here is genuinely hazardous.

Deferred maintenance and river wind

Many Ecorse trees have gone a very long time without attention. That shows up as heavy deadwood loads, badly attached limbs from old storm damage, and stems that were topped years ago and grew back weak. Silver maple, box elder, mulberry and ailanthus — tree-of-heaven — make up a large share of what is standing, and none of those are trees you want overhanging a roof unmaintained.

Tree-of-heaven deserves specific mention because it is everywhere in Ecorse and it is a genuine problem. It spreads aggressively by root suckers, so cutting one down without treating the stump produces a dozen new stems across a wide radius. Dealing with it properly means a plan rather than a chainsaw.

Where we work in Ecorse

We work throughout the city — the neighborhoods off West Jefferson and the riverfront, the streets around Ecorse High School, the sections near Southfield Road, and the blocks bordering Lincoln Park and River Rouge. Riverfront exposure means wind loading here is higher than a few streets inland, and storm calls concentrate near the water.

We also work with landlords and property owners in Ecorse on hazard removals and vacant lot cleanup, which is steady work in a city with a fair amount of turnover in its housing stock.

Fair pricing is the whole reputation

The thing customers write about us most often is the price. People routinely tell us we came in well under other quotes — sometimes half — on the same job with the same cleanup. That is deliberate. We would rather do three jobs on a street at a fair number than one at an inflated one.

We have also worked out payment arrangements with customers facing a genuinely dangerous tree and a budget that would not stretch. That is not a policy we advertise, but it has happened more than once and it is on our review page in the customers' own words.

What customers say

From our 80 Google reviews. These are customers from across our Michigan service area rather than Ecorse specifically — we do not put words in anyone's mouth about where they live.

I needed a tree removed ASAP, I took a chance and called this company and they were out to my house in 15 minutes. I don't normally write reviews but you hear so many bad things about companies I just had to write this review. Paul and his crew came out and removed my tree and cleaned up so nicely and so quick I couldn't believe my eyes. I HIGHLY recommend this company.

I knew they could do the job from watching them take down huge cottonwood trees at a neighbor's. When Eddie gave me his quote I said yes on the spot. I had three 125-foot dead cottonwoods, one of them leaning out over the river, so it was a complicated process. I worried about those trees for three years but no more. I'm happy with their work, their equipment and their team.

Ecorse tree service FAQs

Are you actually cheaper than the other companies?
Our customers say so consistently, and several have written that our quote came in at half of what they were quoted elsewhere. We would rather earn the neighborhood than maximize one invoice.
I keep cutting down a tree and it grows back everywhere. What is it?
Almost certainly tree-of-heaven, and cutting alone makes it worse — it responds by suckering from the roots across a wide area. It needs the stump treated at the time of cutting to actually stop.
