Tree Service in Monroe, MI

Monroe sits where the River Raisin meets Lake Erie, thirty minutes south of our shop and the southern anchor of our service area. It is an older city — one of the oldest in Michigan — with a historic core, established residential neighborhoods, and agricultural land surrounding it.

The combination of an old canopy, river bottomland and Lake Erie wind exposure gives Monroe a distinct tree profile, and it produces steady storm work.

River Raisin bottomland and lake wind

The River Raisin corridor through Monroe supports classic floodplain hardwoods — silver maple, cottonwood, sycamore, box elder, green ash and swamp white oak. Big trees, wet ground, shallow roots. Properties along the river see the most storm damage in the city.

The historic neighborhoods away from the river have genuinely old street trees, including some large oaks and maples that predate most of the region's development. And Monroe gets Lake Erie wind with very little to break it — the flat agricultural landscape west of the city offers no shelter, so straight-line wind events hit hard here.

Where we work in Monroe

We work the city and surrounding area — the historic neighborhoods near downtown and the River Raisin, the areas around Monroe High School and Munson Park, the residential sections off North Custer and Telegraph, the lakefront areas toward Sterling State Park, and the more rural parcels in the surrounding townships.

The rural parcels bring genuine land clearing work: overgrown fence lines, old field edges taken over by buckthorn and autumn olive, and woodlot management. That is a meaningful part of what we do in Monroe County.

The southern end of our service area

Monroe is thirty minutes from Southgate, closer than a good part of Oakland and Macomb counties. We work here regularly and there is no distance premium.

What Monroe gets that the inner suburbs do not is more land work — clearing, fence lines and woodlot edges alongside conventional residential tree service. We are set up for both.

What customers say

From our 80 Google reviews. These are customers from across our Michigan service area rather than Monroe specifically — we do not put words in anyone's mouth about where they live.

One of a Kind Tree Services was absolutely exceptional. Eddie, the owner, gave a more than fair price. When my wife got sick and was in a hospital, he waited until I could make sure the family was healthy to begin the project. As soon as I gave the go-ahead his team was there the next day. Three trees cut down and stumps ground, a large branch pruned and all the wood taken away. These guys are compassionate, caring and extremely professional.

I could not be more satisfied. I had a large tree and stump removed. I got several estimates and they came in at 1/2 the cost of other estimates. Team and owner were knowledgeable and very friendly. I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

Monroe tree service FAQs

Do you serve Monroe County or just Wayne County?
We serve Monroe regularly — it is about thirty minutes from our Southgate shop, closer than parts of Oakland and Macomb counties that we also cover. No distance surcharge.
Can you clear an overgrown field edge or fence line on rural property?
Yes, and we do a lot of it in Monroe County. Buckthorn and autumn olive take over old field edges quickly, and clearing them properly means treating the stumps so they do not come back thicker.
